Community Based Rehabilitation For PWDs

In Jawathu hills of Thiruvanamlai District, community based rehabilitation work started since 1997 among the tribal people living with disability (PWDs). The intervention covers 169 PWDs in Jamunamathur block. It concentrates on strengthening the livelihood options and ensures their rights in the family and in society through formation of CBOs, Accessing government welfare schemes, Strengthening and supporting for their livelihood options, awareness creation and capacity building to eradicate social stigma and prevalence of disability
