International Forest Year 2011

On behalf of VRDP, TAFSC, TAAK International Forest Day 2011 was observed by organizing a seminar on the theme. Mr.A.Renganathan, Director, VRDP during his presidential speech stated that forest is not about trees but it also place for the thousands of insects and creatures to sustain the bio diversity. Wide area of forest losing ground for since it is a lucrative aspect.

Hence VRDP planted 2, 00,000 Saplings in Kanavaipudur Panchayat, kannapadi Village this year with the sup port of American Forests. Next year it is planned to expand to Arunoothumalai Village.
